Description
John Cummins in the Minister of State with responsibility for Local Government and Planning in the Government of Ireland. He is a member of the Fine Gael Party.
John is a former member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government. He was first elected to Waterford City Council at the age of 21 and became the youngest Mayor in the history of the city in June 2013. He is a former chairman of the South East Regional Authority and has served as Chairman of both the Transportation and Planning Strategic Policy Committees.
John has served on numerous boards and committees during his time in politics including Waterford Airport, Theatre Royal, Waterford Enterprise Board and Waterford & Wexford Education and Training Board.
