PhD in Philosophy, awarded Magna cum Laude from the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome; MBA and Specialist in Industrial Relations from EAFIT University; Alumnus of the International Senior Management Program with ESADE; Diploma in Finance, Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
He is SROI certified by Social Value International (United Kingdom). He has completed courses such as The Challenges of Global Poverty with MIT, Leading the Development of Sustainable Cities with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Impact Evaluation with J-PAL, and Sustainable Development with Universidad de los Andes, among others. He has served as a school principal for over 14 years.
He participated in capacity-building programs with the OECD and the Trento Centre for Local Development for social development agents in Latin America in 2010—programs that continued successfully through 2023. He designed and launched EAFIT Social, including within it the Master’s Program in Social Enterprise Management for Social Innovation and Local Development at EAFIT University.
He is a university professor and organizational consultant in areas such as social innovation and management, managerial skills, strategic planning, corporate policy, and organizational development at both national and international levels. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Verona in the area of development economics; a visiting professor in the Doctoral Program in Strategic Management at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, as well as at the University of Lima, Cayetano Heredia University, and the University of the Pacific in Peru. He has also taught in the Master’s Program in Social Innovation for Inclusion at the University of Viña del Mar, Chile; served as an innovation consultant at the Catholic University of Concepción, Chile; and been a guest lecturer at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas and the University of Guanajuato, among others. He is also a partner of the "Regiones en Desarrollo" (Regions in Development) Network in Mexico.
He is a former executive at EAFIT University, former director of the EAFIT Social Studies Center, and former director of the Research Group on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability (GUIES) at EAFIT, where he continues to serve as a researcher.
He has worked as a consultant for UN-Habitat and was among the winners of the Nicanor Restrepo Annual Research Award in the Department of Antioquia in 2022.
