Marcel is the Director of Land Use at the Regional Plan Association, an independent, nonprofit civic organization that develops and promotes ideas to improve the economic health, environmental resiliency, equity, and quality of life in the New York metropolitan area. Marcel oversees long-term research projects on housing, economic development, flood resiliency, and land use. He combines systemic thinking with design, spatial analysis, and data visualization to support the organization’s planning and advocacy efforts at both the regional and neighborhood levels. Marcel holds an MSc in Urban Environmental Systems from the Pratt Institute Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment (GCPE) and a B.Des from the School of Architecture and Design at Universidad de Los Andes.
