Colombian economist based in Canada. Specialist in local development (UQAM) and holder of a Master’s degree in rural development (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana). Board Member of CIRIEC Canada and Steering Committee Member of the UNICOSSOL Network. General Coordinator of the OECD-approved partner session at the 2025 Local Development Forum. With over 25 years of experience in the social economy and cooperativism, he has held leadership roles in the public sector, academia, and cooperative associations across Latin America. He is the author of the concept and measurement of “solidarity transfer” (social benefit in the Social Balance) and a promoter of pedagogical tools and methodologies to strengthen leadership in the solidarity economy. He has served as a university professor and researcher (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana), a national cooperative representative (former Executive President of Confecoop), and a member of Colombia’s National Planning Council (CNP–DNP). He currently leads regional integration projects among cooperative and academic actors in Latin America and Canada.
