Juan Manuel Rojas is CEO of Promigas, the leading gas transportation and distribution company in Colombia and Peru. Previously he worked as VP of Strategy and Business Development of Ecopetrol, the Colombian NOC. Prior to joining Ecopetrol, he worked as General Manager of Bridas Corporation, and as Manager of New Ventures in Panamerican Energy in Argentina. Mr. Rojas also holds experience working for the public sector. He was Deputy Minister of Energy and Gas of the Republic of Colombia. He has also worked as a consultant for the energy industry: on several occasions for the World Bank in projects covering electricity markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In the academic field he has been professor of the Master of Public Policy Program at the University Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, and has been Professor of History of Economic Thought at the University of the Andes (Colombia). He is an economist from the University of the Andes, holds a Masters in Economics from the same institution and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
