Description

Global Opportunity Youth Network is a global multi-stakeholder initiative committed to creating systemic change by generating economic opportunities for young people who are not accessing education, formal employment, or income-generating opportunities. In Barranquilla, GOYN works in coordination with more than 70 public, private, and civil society organisations to promote the creation of social capital, support networks, and scalable, sustainable employability and entrepreneurship opportunities. Youth participation and evidence-based decision-making are key pillars in building an ecosystem that recognises young people and their role as agents of change in the city. Join us at stand number 30 to talk about how to: • Engage young people as drivers of change: At GOYN Barranquilla, young people are active agents of change. Centering youth in the initiative fosters their participation in the design and implementation of interventions, ensuring that the strategies and solutions we shape truly reflect the needs and aspirations of young people in the city. • Shift narratives and mindsets about youth: We work to transform public perceptions of young people by promoting more positive, empathetic, and realistic narratives. Our focus on narrative change strengthens the capacity of youth and partner organizations to collaborate, drives campaigns that create behavioral and opportunity shifts, and influences the design of public policies that support productive youth inclusion. • Promote evidence-based decision-making and locally grounded solutions: We generate knowledge to support informed decision-making and champion solutions rooted in local realities. One example is GOYN Conecta, a platform co-created with youth and ecosystem partners that brings together guidance, training, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities available in the city—all in one place.
