In 2011 he became CTO & CIO with responsibility for the airport's project department including construction projects as well as all the company's technical facilities, IT Systems, runway installations and buildings. During the period, he was also airport manager for infrastructure and technology as Maintenance Manager. From 2020 he held the position of COO & CIO and also served as Accountable Manager. Christian Poulsen was appointed CEO on 1 January 2024. Recovering from the COVID-19-crisis, CPH is once again establishing itself as the leading aviation hub in Northern Europe and a pillar for economic growth in the Greater Copenhagen area. With the purpose “Let’s travel together to a better tomorrow” CPH is continuing a journey to an even more attractive and sustainable airport. CPH maintains a strong focus on the green transition of aviation and has since 2020 been heading up the European innovation partnership ALIGHT, centred on smart energy usage in airports and future propellants such as SAF. Ambitious projects are underway at CPH to create space for more passengers as well as the more noise-reduced and fuel-efficient aircraft of the future. In addition, the airport is undergoing a digital development that will strengthen both the passenger experience and internal work procedures.
