Veronica Nilsson was elected General Secretary of the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC) in June 2023 after serving as Acting General Secretary from May 2022.
Previously, Ms. Nilsson was Head of the Global Deal Support Unit in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs (ELS) at the OECD (2019-22). Before joining the OECD, she oversaw a regional project on trade-related issues at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung office in Singapore (2017-2019).
Ms Nilsson has spent most of her career in the trade union movement and held several elected positions between 2010 and 2016, including as Deputy General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
Prior to this, she worked at the European Federation of Public Service Unions (2009), served as Senior Policy Advisor at the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (2001-2008) and was a researcher at the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees (1996-2001).
Ms Nilsson is a Swedish national and holds a Master’s degree in Political Economy from Stockholm University.
