OECD GPN SeriesSupporting Novice Teachers – Insights from the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey TALIS 2024

Our Autumn series of thematic online sessions will continue on Thursday 27 November with an exchange on Supporting Novice Teachers – Insights from the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2024.

TALIS aims to help policymakers and education leaders craft informed strategies to improve teaching quality and learning environments. In 2024 it sampled about 280 000 teachers and school leaders at 17 000 lower secondary schools across 55 education systems.
The report The State of Teaching, based on TALIS results, says that nine in ten teachers report being satisfied with their jobs overall, on average, across OECD education systems; and that almost three-quarters would choose to work as a teacher again, on average, if they had the option to do so. Almost 95% of teachers surveyed also say they often feel happy while teaching.

The session will feature a presentation by Ruochen Li, TALIS Senior Project Manager, OECD Directorate of Education and Skills, followed by an interactive dialogue. Interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish.

This session is open to Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Officials.
