Mary Rose Stafford started her career in the hotel industry, gaining 15 years Human Resource Management experience in New York, London and Dublin before settling in Kerry, Ireland. She has worked as a manager in third level education for the past 20 years, and has served on local and national tourism boards, including Failte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority. She is the co-author of two books and numerous academic papers and is actively involved in community tourism projects in Kerry.
