Alexander López Maya is the current Director of the National Planning Department and a prominent figure in Colombian politics. Born in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, his career has been guided by a passionate defense of the human rights of the most vulnerable citizens. With a background in Law from the Universidad San Buenaventura and a specialization in Government and Territorial Public Management from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, López Maya has made a significant impact in the political arena. He has been elected six times as one of the top 20 congressmen in Colombia, according to the opinion panel survey of the Cifras y Conceptos portal. Throughout his public career, he has stood out for confronting government policies that prioritize economic interests over the well-being of the population. His commitment is focused on protecting the most disadvantaged sectors, especially workers and early childhood.
