Description
Lukas Stifter is a senior investment policy officer at the Federal Ministry for Labour and Economic of Austria. In this capacity, he represents the Republic of Austria in negotiations on international investment agreements as well as on intra-EU investment protection. He acts as Austrian delegate to several relevant international fora, notably the Council of the European Union, the OECD, UNCITRAL and the ECT.
Prior to his position with the Austrian government, Lukas Stifter worked as lecturer and researcher in public international law at the Department of European, International and Comparative Law at the University of Vienna with a focus on international investment law and arbitration.
Since July 2020, he serves as Chair of the ECT Modernisation Group.
Lukas Stifter studied law at the University of Vienna and at Maastricht University.
