Description

Shogo Nishikawa holds a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Kyoto University. He has contributed to the Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan (NUMO), focusing on knowledge management and the development of the NUMO Pre-siting SDM-based Safety Case. From 2020 to 2022, Shogo served as a Bureau member of the Expert Group on Data and Information Management Strategy for the Safety Case (EGSSC). Currently, he is with the Division of Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning (RWMD) of Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), where he supports NEA subsidiary bodies and projects on Information, Data, and Knowledge management, as well as safety case development.

NEA membership consists of 34 countries representing 80% of the world's installed nuclear electricity generating capacity. The mission of the NEA is to assist its member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It strives to provide authoritative assessments and to forge common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear energy policy and to broader OECD analyses in areas such as energy and the sustainable development of low carbon economies.
