Description

Véronique Vasseur is the Strategy and Policy Advisor of COVRA N.V., the national Radioactive Waste Management organisation in The Netherlands. She is also the vice president of the Dutch Young Generation, the organisation for young professionals in the nuclear field. Besides that she manages the secretariat of the organisation for radioactive waste organisations in Europe, the Club of Agencies. She started her career in the nuclear field at the only Dutch operating nuclear powerplant. Her background is in communications and public and legal affairs. Her main expertise is in managing the interface between public and private interests.

NEA membership consists of 34 countries representing 80% of the world's installed nuclear electricity generating capacity. The mission of the NEA is to assist its member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It strives to provide authoritative assessments and to forge common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear energy policy and to broader OECD analyses in areas such as energy and the sustainable development of low carbon economies.
