Description
Kelly Lebon is the coordinator of the Learning Shop in West-Flanders Belgium. She has more than ten years’ experience in Adult Guidance and projects to facilitate the access to lifelong learning. She is also the chairperson of the “Learning Network Learning Shops”, who unites all learning shops in Flanders.
Kelly was closely involved in the Erasmus+ project GOAL, which set up a ‘one-stop-learning-shop’ for low educated adults. During this project, together with ‘De Stap, Learning Shop East-Flanders’, they developed different tools for adult guidance, a competency profile for a guiding assistant and a blueprint for learning shops.
Today, the learning shop in West-Flanders guides over 1 000 adults a year and has a broad experience with different target groups, such as refugees, low-educated adults, and detainees. During the guidance process, they identify competences and talents and use these to orientate the adults to lifelong learning. There is also a lot of attention paid to possible obstacles which could lead to failure during the learning path. So adult guidance is a tailor-made approach, they also coordinate the pathway with relevant partners such as labour offices or social welfare organizations.
