Description

After completing her physics degree at the University of Nottingham, Ms Perry worked at Sellafield Ltd as a radiation protection trainee for two years before beginning a PhD with the nuclear energy EPSRC CDT based at the University of Cambridge. Ms Perry was fortunate to work at several different plants at Sellafield including the legacy ponds and THORP reprocessing as well as in the central safety team, each with their own unique challenges. Her PhD project is a study of the oxidative dissolution of MOx fuels in reducing geological disposal conditions, using a thorium analogue for plutonium, feeding into the EU H2020 DisCo consortium.
