He has a Master of Science degree in Geohydrology from Uppsala University, Sweden.
Magnus Holmqvist has devoted much of his career to the field of nuclear waste management and final disposal both nationally and internationally. He entered SKBs spent nuclear fuel programme as a consultant in the late 1990ties to research radionuclide transport and to develop and deploy site investigation equipment for the site investigations in Forsmark and Oskarshamn. Before entering SKB International in 2007 he held several management positions. He started at SKB International as Manager of Business Development before becoming Vice President in 2009 and President in 2013.
