Description
Mr Mark Gobien graduated from Queen’s University in 2008 with a degree in physics and started working for the Nuclear Waste Management Organization shortly thereafter. For the past 14 years he has held a variety of roles within the safety assessment and technical research department.
Mr Gobien’s current role is as Section Manager, Safety Assessment Models where he is responsible for leading a group of technical staff and external contractors in developing the next generation of safety assessment tools and models. These tools and models will be used to evaluate the safety of candidate sites for a deep geological repository for used nuclear fuel in Canada.
