Job title

R&D Geosciences Engineer, Applied Systems Analysis & Research Department, Nuclear Energy Fuel Cycle Program

Description

Mr Richard “Rick” Jayne received his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech in Geology, where he studied engineered geologic systems related to CO2 sequestration and enhanced geothermal systems. Mr Jayne began his career in 2019 with Sandia National Laboratories as a Research Hydrogeologist, where he utilizes field and experimental data to constrain numerical models to study geological processes related to subsurface fluid flow. Currently, his main research focus is studying nuclear waste disposal within geologic salt formations by contributing to the current numerical, experimental, and field efforts at Sandia.
