Lord Markham
Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for the Lords)
Lord Markham was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care on 22 September 2022.
He has extensive experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors, having been a lead Non-Executive Director at the Housing Ministry and the Department of Work and Pensions, as well as having an extensive entrepreneurial background across a range of sectors.
Previously he was also the Deputy Leader of Westminster Council. His portfolio responsibilities include the NHS Estate (including the New Hospital Programme), Data, Digital and Technology as well as NHS Finance and Innovation.
He is particularly interested in promoting the adoption of innovative health technologies and how these can be rolled out at scale and in utilising technology to improve patient experience and outcomes, for example through use of the NHS mobile App.
