Marija Bubaš

Marija Bubas was born in 1972, graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1997, became a specialist in occupational medicine in 2008, and completed a postgraduate doctoral study in biology in 2010. She is a senior research associate at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, a member of the Management Board of the European Association of Schools of Occupational Medicine (EASOM), and at the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) she has been the president of the Scientific Committee for Education and Training in Occupational Medicine for the last four years and has been nominated as the representative of the Republic of Croatia to that organization. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Coalition on Health at Work at the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). In 2021, she was the representative of the Republic of Croatia in the Standing Committee of the Regional Committee of the European Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (EURO WHO). She is the representative of the Republic of Croatia in European expert working groups for the development and harmonization of diagnostic criteria for occupational diseases, a representative of the Ministry of Health in the National Council for Occupational Safety and National Health Council and was appointed head of the specialist training program for specialization in Occupational and Sports Medicine in 2019. From 2021 until her transition to the new duty of state secretary in the Ministry of Health, she was a special advisor to the minister of health for public health.
