Ms. Baiamonte currently serves as Senior Advisor, Forced Labor Division, Office Trade, at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). She oversees three teams of Investigations and Operations analysts who review allegations of forced labor in U.S. bound supply chains. With her teams, she assesses completeness of due diligence and corporate social responsibility programs, collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders, and helps to implement the agency’s forced labor authority. Prior to serving as Senior Advisor, Ms. Baiamonte was the Executive Director, International Operations, Office of International Affairs (INA), CBP. While in this role she managed the activities and functions of CBP INA’s overseas operations consisting of 30 Attachés/13 Advisors stationed in 27 countries around the world, and a Washington D.C. workforce consisting of six senior managers and 75 employees. Ms. Baiamonte served as INAs Acting Deputy Assistant Commissioner where she helped lead the coordination and support of all CBP's foreign initiatives, programs, and activities, including the development and execution of CBP's international strategies. In this role she supported the operations of an organization consisting of over 200 employees based in Washington, DC and overseas. Ms. Baiamonte has also served in the role of Director, Business Transformation, Trade Transformation Office, Office of Trade. Ms. Baiamonte’s primary role was to provide assistance in the identification, planning and governance of legal and policy requirements related to CBP’s trade-facing automation initiatives. In this role, Ms. Baiamonte was part of the management team that led the development efforts for ACE and the Single Window. Ms. Baiamonte began her federal career with legacy U.S. Customs Service as an attorney with the Office of Regulations and Rulings. She was responsible for the issuance of rulings pertaining to Customs position on imported merchandise. She represented CBP as part of an international training delegation to provide guidance to other government agencies on classification matters and provided litigation support on issues heard before the Court of International Trade. Ms. Baiamonte has worked in the private sector as Director of compliance for clients transacting business in Europe and Latin America. In that role, Ms. Baiamonte provided guidance to companies with an interest in the import and export requirements of those regions. Ms. Baiamonte is fluent in Italian. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Brandeis University. She has a Masters Degree in International Policy Studies and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. Ms. Baiamonte is happily married with 4 children.
