Sectoral Specialist on textiles, clothing, leather and footwear

Description

Beatriz Cunha has been working at the ILO for more than 25 years. She is currently based at the ILO HQ in Geneva, where she serves as the specialist for textiles, clothing, leather and footwear at the Sectoral Policies Department. In that position, she is responsible for promoting decent work and social justice in the sector through: production of research on recent trends in the industry; organization of global and regional meeting on topics of interest for governments, employers and workers organizations; implementation of capacity building programmes, including through development cooperation projects. She also contributes to strengthen collaboration with UN agencies and other international organizations, including the OECD and UNEP, to foster policy coherence and implement joint activities. She is responsible for the coordination of ILO activities under the UNEP project on reducing the uses and releases of chemicals of concern in the textiles sector.
