Description

Margaret Quirk, a lawyer, has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly in the Western Australian Parliament since 2001.  She has served in both Opposition and Government. Her roles have included Government Whip, Parliamentary Secretary, Minister and Shadow Minister. She has also served as a chair of several standing Committees including that which has oversight of the Corruption and Crime Commission. This committee undertook a major inquiry into Procurement and the risks of corruption.  Prior to entering Parliament Margaret worked as Regional counsel for the National Crime Authority which investigated National and International Organised Crime. In that capacity she worked in a multi-disciplinary team comprising police, intelligence analysts and accountants. She has maintained her interest in transnational crime and money laundering.
