First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament)
Takes an active position on public administration reform in Ukraine and decentralization of power. Supports the development of youth policy in Ukraine. During the current parliamentary term, he was involved in the implementation of key reforms (judicial, land, anti-corruption, economic, decentralization, electoral reforms, etc.), in the removal of artificial barriers – bureaucratic, procedural, political – to these reforms. As a representative of the leadership of the Ukrainian parliament, he is actively involved in the implementation of legislative changes and European integration reforms for Ukraine’s early accession to the European Union.
Strongly condemns the russian aggression and military actions on the territory of Ukraine.
He was the Deputy Chairman of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Formation and Implementation of the State Policy on Restoration of Territorial Integrity and Ensuring the Sovereignty of Ukraine, and has consistently defended the position that russia is an aggressor and the Minsk Agreements are ineffective and inefficient. Since February 24, 2022, he has been assisting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, traveling to the border, de-occupied territories and frontline areas. He has been active on the diplomatic front. During 2022, he held more than 100 international meetings and paid official visits to more than 15 countries.
