Description
Claire Duffett Thomas is the Fiscal Transparency Coordinator in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.  She is a Foreign Service Officer who served previously as the Assistant Press Officer in Cairo, Egypt and as a visa adjudicator in Monterrey, Mexico.  Ms. Thomas oversees the Fiscal Transparency Report, which evaluates data on the fiscal transparency in 141 countries that could receive U.S. foreign assistance, to identify deficiencies and support needed reforms.  Before the U.S. State Department, Claire was a journalist, reporting on governance, law, and corruption issues in New York City, Cambodia, and Syria.
