Description
Jo Rowley is Deputy Director – Audit Practice for the UK’s Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA). Her role includes oversight of GIAA’s internal audit methodology, quality assurance framework and post-qualification, professional development activities. She recently led the GIAA through a successful external quality assessment. In 2020, her team received the Public Finance Good Governance, Risk Management or Prevention Award as part of the UK Overseas Territories Project.
Jo has extensive internal audit experience gained with several retail banks and in the public sector, after spending a decade in accountancy practice for a Big 4 firm. She is a qualified internal auditor (CIA) and accountant (FCCA). Jo represents the UK central government on the UK Public Sector Internal Audit Standards Advisory Board and is the UK member of the ECIIA Public Sector Committee.
