Biography

Lioubov Samokhina studied law and international relations at Moscow State University, Nottingham University and Yale University. She counts on 20 years of professional experience in international organisations, of which over 10 years in the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) of the Council of Europe. As Senior Legal Adviser in GRECO, she is responsible for monitoring member States’ compliance with the Council of Europe’s integrity and anti-corruption standards and has authored over 50 detailed country reports with binding recommendations for governments to undertake policy, legislative, institutional and other reforms. She acts as GRECO’s contact point for OECD and assists GRECO’s Executive Secretary in strengthening relationship with the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group. Her past work experience includes heading the Secretariat of a major UNHCR/IOM/EU project at the UNHCR Kiev Office and co-ordinating the activities of the UN country team as a UN Coordination Associate at the UNDP Moscow Office.
