Biographie
Major General (Retired) of the Spanish Army,Infantry, Born in Bilbao (Vizcaya) in 1957. He served in the Spanish Army on Active Duty from 1975 to 2018. On March 2018, as a Reserve General Officer he was appointed Deputy Director for Planning and Environment in the Infrastructure General Direction of the Ministry of Defence. MP during the XIII and XIV Legislative terms. He was appointed Deputy Head of the Spanish Delegation to the NATO PA and in 2022 he was elected President of the Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group within the Assembly, a position he held until September 2025. He is currently a Senator for Melilla from 2023. He is the spokesman in the Defence Committee, a member of the Joint National Security Committee, and Acting Head of the Spanish Delegation to the NATO PA. In 2025 he was elected Vice-President of the NATO PA. During his time on Active Duty in the Armed Forces, he took part in missions in Angola, Croatia, Albania, Kosovo, Lebanon and Republic of Guinée.
