Biographie
Sverre Myrli was first elected to the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting, in 1997, representing the Labour Party and Akershus. He now serves on the Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs. In earlier periods, he served on the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications, the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, and the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Affairs. Myrli has been part of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since 2005, chairing two sub-committees before serving as Vice-President in 2016–2017. He has long experience in Labour Party politics, including leadership roles in Akershus and membership in the Labour Central Executive Committee. Myrli has worked as a political adviser in the Ministry of Transport and Communications and holds an MPA from Copenhagen Business School. He has professional experience from several national organisations and has completed platoon commander training in the Norwegian Home Guard.
