Description
James Dalton is Global Director, Water and Wetlands at IUCN. He leads global work on freshwater governance, restoration and climate resilience, with a focus on transboundary cooperation, water stewardship, nature-based solutions and finance mobilisation. Since joining IUCN in 2009, he has worked with governments, basin organisations, companies and civil society partners to turn water policy into practical implementation. Before IUCN, he served as Integrated Water Resources Management Adviser at the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission in Fiji and earlier worked with ITAD-Water and DFID in the United Kingdom. He has more than 28 years of experience across over 25 countries.
