Cate Lamb

Earth Capital Nexus

Distinguished Policy Fellow

Description

Cate Lamb is a Distinguished Policy Fellow with Earth Capital Nexus and founder of Cate Lamb Advisory, an independent practice advising financial institutions, sovereigns, and multilateral bodies on freshwater risk, blue and nature finance, and financial regulation. She serves as UNEP FI's Freshwater Lead and is a commissioned advisor to the OECD Roundtable on Financing Water. Over more than 20 years, Cate has worked at the intersection of capital markets and environmental risk: she built and led CDP's Global Water Security programme, embedding water risk into an estimated $124 trillion in financial decision-making; co-founded the Blue Bond Accelerator, mobilising an ~$8bn pipeline of sovereign and sub-sovereign blue bond issuances; co-chaired the Science Based Targets Network; and served as Water Lead for the COP26 High-Level Climate Champions. Her work focuses on rewiring financial infrastructure, not just financing individual projects, to price and manage water and ocean risk at systemic scale.
