Eric De Moudt

African Frontier Capital

CEO

Description

Eric founded African Frontier Capital in 2010 to develop scalable financing solutions for assets and businesses that conventional capital markets struggle to finance efficiently. Today, AFC specialises in structured finance and securitisation, connecting institutional capital with granular pools of consumer and commercial receivables across Africa, with a particular focus on distributed renewable energy and other essential assets. AFC combines origination, structuring, credit analysis, data-driven portfolio monitoring and servicing to transform high-volume receivables into investable institutional credit. AFC has to date purchased over USD 500 million of distributed renewable energy assets across sub-Saharan Africa. Recent transactions include AFC’s USD 50 million green bond financing supporting d.light’s PAYGo business and large-scale securitisation facilities for distributed solar receivables across Sub-Saharan Africa. Eric leads AFC’s strategy, capital mobilisation, investor relationships and investment oversight. Over more than 25 years in investment banking, private equity and principal investing, Eric has worked across structured finance, M&A and infrastructure and overseen the deployment of more than USD 700 million across Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to founding AFC, Eric worked at PME African Infrastructure Opportunities and Citigroup Investment Banking. He holds an MBA from London Business School.
