Description
Jenitha is the Senior Policy Advisor for Sustainability Programmes and Projects, at the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and has worked at the Department since February 2003. Her professional experience spans across several sectors within the Green Economy and provides technical and strategic coordination through project planning and implementation of green economy initiatives (i.e., both mitigation and adaptation – related) across spheres of government and in collaboration with donor country partners and United Nations Agencies. She provides oversight on the National Green Fund. She coordinates both multi-lateral and bilateral donor-funded programmes. Other activities include support to just energy transition, green enterprise development, event greening and carbon offsetting. Jenitha holds a PhD in Plant Pathology (University of Durban-Westville), a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Management, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (University of South Africa) an Executive Certificate in Environmental Governance (Graduate Institute on International and Development Studies, Geneva- Switzerland) and a Certificate in Strategic Business Management (University of Cape Town).
