Dr Nirupama Kulkarni is a Professor at the Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL) that supports the Reserve Bank of India. She works on academic and policy research in the areas of banking, household finance, real estate, and monetary policy. Dr Kulkarni’s work has appeared in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Management Science, and the Journal of Corporate Finance. She has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay, an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and a Ph.D. in business administration (finance and real estate) from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
