Description
Christina Hioureas is a partner and Global Co-Chair of Foley Hoag’s International Litigation & Arbitration Department, and Chair of the firm’s United Nations practice group, based in New York. She is also a Visiting Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law and a Lecturer of Law at the USC Gould School of Law, where she teaches international law.
Christina represents States, private and State-owned entities, and individuals on international investment treaty and commercial disputes and public international law matters, and advises States on matters before the UN. She acts as counsel in arbitrations and has served as arbitrator in nearly 80 arbitrations. She also acts for States before the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and regional human rights tribunals. Her work ranges from cleantech, gas price revisions, and joint development zones, to climate change, decolonization, and human rights. Christina has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and the Global Arbitration Review, and as a “Top 10 Most Innovative Lawyers—North Americas” by The Financial Times (2024).
