Description

Lukas Schaugg is a policy advisor with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), where his work focuses on the reform of international investment governance and its nexus with energy and climate policy. He advises developing country governments and regional bodies on investment treaties, national investment laws, investment contracts, and investor–state dispute settlement, and follows investment policy reform processes at UNCITRAL, the OECD, and UNCTAD. Before joining IISD, Lukas worked as deputy counsel at the International Chamber of Commerce administering arbitration proceedings in the mining, energy, infrastructure, and construction sectors. He holds a PhD in international law from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, and an LLM from King's College London.
