Biography
He served as a founding member of the AK Party and as Deputy Chair responsible for Foreign Affairs.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Antalya in the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 27th legislative terms. He served as Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator. Between 2010 and 2012, he served as President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). From 2003 to 2014, he held various senior positions and carried out significant work within PACE. On 7 April 2014, he was awarded the title of Honorary President of PACE. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the 64th, 65th and 66th Governments.
Mr. Çavuşoğlu speaks English at an advanced level and German, Japanese and Russian at an intermediate level.
