Description
Ms Guri Ellen Stange has a Master of Law degree from the University of Oslo specialising in Tax Law. She is employed as a Senior Tax Lawyer in the Norwegian Tax Administration, specializing in VAT. Prior to joining the Norwegian Tax Administration in 2001, Ms Stange worked for the Ministry of Finance, Tax Law Department, and in the EFTA Secretariat in Brussels.
Ms. Stange has held positions in both Audit Department and Legal Department, VAT Unit. Her primary responsibilities cover VAT in cross-border transactions, cross-border VAT Fraud and international administrative cooperation.
Ms. Stange is part of the negotiation-team for the Agreement between EU and Norway on administrative cooperation, combating fraud and recovery in the field of VAT. She is a member of various international groups in the field of VAT: OECD WP9 Focus Group on VAT Compliance in digital trade - SG3 (Chair), IOTA Steering Group for VAT Fraud Forum and is the National Coordinator for the EU Eurofisc cooperation.
She takes part in capacity building programmes for Zanzibar and Tanzania and has contributed as an expert for OECD on events under the OECD Programme of Co-operation with Non-OECD Economies in both South Korea and Russia.
