Description
Maria Cristina Mac Dowell is a Principal Specialist in the Fiscal Management Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she coordinates financing and technical assistance programs in fiscal policy and fiscal management in Brazil.
Prior to joining the IDB, she held senior positions in Brazilian government institutions, including as a researcher and General Coordinator at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) and as Director General of the School of Tax Administration (ESAF) of Brazil’s Ministry of Finance. She has also taught Economics at undergraduate and graduate levels and worked as a consultant for international organizations.
She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Brasília (UnB) and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), both Brazilians public universities.
