Description
Alberto Barreix is a fiscal consultant for multilateral institutions among which the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he was Fiscal Principal Leader. At the IDB, he led technical assistance in fiscal reforms in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, he worked in Asian and Eastern European countries for multilaterals and international cooperation agencies. He was a lecturer and researcher at Harvard University where he obtained a PhD and master’s degrees in public administration and in international taxation. His contributions include co-authoring the semi-dual income tax, the personalized VAT, and the equivalent fiscal pressure.
