Simon Foster is the Global Director of eInvoicing at Xero, a leading global small business platform serving over 4.6 million subscribers. A leading authority on the intersection of digital reporting and global tax policy, Simon leads Xero’s strategic efforts to integrate e-invoicing and digital reporting into the everyday workflows of small businesses worldwide.
Simon holds several key international leadership roles in the e-invoicing ecosystem. Within OpenPeppol, he chairs the board responsible for regulatory and compliance frameworks (APP CMB) and serves as a member of the board overseeing e-invoice and other document interoperability standards (PoAC CMB). Additionally, he serves on the board of the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) and is a former President of Digital Service Providers Australia/New Zealand (DSPANZ).
He is a vocal advocate for ensuring that Digital Continuous Transactional Reporting (DCTR) mandates are designed with an "SME-centric" lens—prioritizing interoperability, open standards, and the reduction of administrative burdens to drive both tax compliance and economic productivity.
