Description

Ramy is currently Deputy Minister of Finance for tax policy and reforms at the Ministry of Finance. In September 2019, he was advisor to the Egyptian minister of finance for the international tax and tax reforms, and has played a main role in designing and planning the tax policies in Egypt; he also served as a focal point of contact for the multinational organizations involved with the ministry of finance for tax matters. Ramy is a board member and head of the audit committee of e-tax company. Ramy lead the digital transformation strategy and supervised the related projects within the Egyptian tax administrations. Ramy is leading and supervising the international tax aspects related to the digital economy, including the legislation reforms as well as building the practice in Egypt related to the applications of the e-commerce and digitalized economy. He is also leading the transparency and exchange of information legislation reforms and reforms related to the practice and capacity building. He was a tax advisory in one of the big four audit firms for more than 13 years with a scope including but not limited to tax advisory work, international tax, transfer pricing application, effective supply chain design, business process design and re-engineering, digital transformation, and tax performance advisory.
