Description
Before joining the European Commission, I worked as a tax inspector with the Belgian Ministry of Finance and when I joined the Commission 30 years ago, I was active in the anti-dumping policy, before moving to DG TAXUD. There I was responsible for VAT and administrative cooperation and the fight against VAT fraud, including the setting up of Eurofisc and the different enlargement processes.
The main files I dealt with recently are the VAT e-Commerce package and ViDA (VAT in the digital Age) proposal.
I also take part in the meetings at IOTA (Intergovernmental Organization of Tax Administrations), WCO (World Customs Organisation) and OECD, where I am a member of the WP9 and its bureau.
