Description
Atle Høie (Norway, 1966) is the General Secretary of IndustriALL Global Union. He holds degrees in engineering and in economics and business administration. Atle began his career in 1992 as a logistics consultant at the agricultural cooperative Felleskjøpet, before joining the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) to lead environmental affairs and coordinate trade union action ahead of Norway’s 1994 EU referendum.
In 1995 he moved to Fellesforbundet, where he directed international work and maintained contacts with 15 Nordic, European and global trade secretariats.
After his election at IndustriALL Global Union 2nd Congress in Rio de Janeiro, he served as IndustriALL’s Assistant General Secretary from 2016 to 2021. In 2021 he was elected General Secretary, and re-elected in Sydney in 2025.
