Dr. Kari Otteburn is a senior researcher at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, KU Leuven. Her work is situated within the broader field of international political economy and explores the intersections of global economic governance and global sustainability governance, contributing to scholarship on business and human rights, transnational governance, and private regulation. Her scholarly contributions have been featured in leading journals, including Global Policy, The International Journal of Human Rights, The Journal of World Investment and Trade, Asia Europe Journal, International Review of Public Policy, as well as in numerous edited volumes. She is also a co-editor of the Research Handbook on Global Governance, Business and Human Rights (Edward Elgar, 2022). In addition to academic research, she also consults for governments and international organizations, and has conducted research on behalf of the Belgian government, European institutions, and UN bodies, among others.
