Biography

Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo is Ambassador of the Dominican Republic and OECD Coordinator in the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He is former Ambassador to Geneva, Brussels, New York, London, Doha, and Seoul. Having managed the transition from the GATT to the WTO between 1994 and 1998, Dr. Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo currently coordinates the regulatory alignment process with the OECD as a foreign policy advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Roberto Álvarez Gil. Dr. Cuello Camilo has 40 years of public service experience, including 25 years as Ambassador to Geneva, Brussels, New York, London, Doha, and Seoul; and four years as Undersecretary for International Cooperation and Economic Reforms. In March 2026, he organized the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding through which the Dominican Republic formalized its engagement with the OECD. The agreement aims to foster cooperation, promote the exchange of best practices, and support the strengthening of public policies in line with international standards. This initiative was undertaken pursuant to Decree No. 408-25, through which Dominican President Luis Abinader established the Presidential Commission for the OECD. Since then, Dr. Cuello Camilo has served as the focal point for OECD-related matters within the Dominican government.
