Biography
Dr. Stéphanie Lachat, Co-Director of the Federal Office for Gender Equality, Switzerland
Stéphanie Lachat co-leads the Federal Office for Gender Equality (FOGE), Switzerland's governmental authority on gender equality.
Under her leadership, the Office drives concrete national priorities: equality in the labour market, combating domestic, sexual and gender-based violence, and the rights of LGBTIQ persons. It also coordinates the Gender Equality Strategy 2030, the national strategic framework embedding gender equality across all Swiss public policies.
Stéphanie Lachat has a wealth of experience in both public administration and the private sector. She served as a strategic advisor to the cantonal government of Neuchâtel/Switzerland. Prior to that, she held the role of Head of Communications, Public Relations and Digital Channels at a major watchmaking brand. She also holds a solid academic background in economic and social sciences.
