Description

Flora Ismail Tibazarwa is a Director at EcoTek (Tanzania) Limited, an advisory firm that navigates its clients in sustainable environmental management and innovation. She brings over 20 years of leadership experience in environmental management, science, technology, innovation management, and strategic foresight to the firm. She was the Programme Director for the second phase of the Southern African Innovation Support Programme (SAIS) from 2017 to 2022. She headed the Botany Department at the University of Dar es Salaam for six years (2006–2012) and served as director of Life Sciences at the Tanzania Commission for Research, Science and Technology for four years (2013–2017). Flora is passionate about sustainable transformation using green and blue solutions, and shares this passion with other international players as the Vice Chair of the Biotechnology Society of Tanzania, a founder of the World Bioeconomy Association, a member of the advisory board of the World Bioeconomy Forum, and a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Global Bioeconomy Council.
