Radia Funna is founder and CEO of Build n Blaze, the world's leading standards-based digital transformation firm, and serves as United Nations Special Advisor on emerging technologies and digital standards. As Chair of the IEEE P7100 AI Environmental Impacts Drafting Group, Radia developed the world's most comprehensive framework for measuring AI's environmental footprint now adopted as the foundation for the first global standard on AI environmental measurement.
Radia's pioneering work bridges technical standards development with international policy implementation. She led multiple working groups for ITU's Focus Group on metaverse, authored the UN-approved definitions of the metaverse and CitiVerse; and founded UN Virtual Worlds Day, convening 18+ UN agencies to advance sustainable digital transformation prioritising people and planet. Her frameworks are actively informing national digital strategies, UN policy implementation and corporate sustainability practices worldwide.
